Today we are sharing Katy & Alex’s wedding day that took place this past weekend at St. John’s Episcopal Church and The Venue at the King’s Centre in Johnson City, TN!! We began the day at St. John’s Episcopal Church and what a gorgeous church it is!! It is a very sentimental location to Katy & Alex as well!! They began going there when they started dating. Ever since their engagement session, we have been looking forward to photographing this sweet couple again!! Alex and Katy have such a genuine, strong love for one another and the same goes for the genuine relationships they have with their parents!! We love seeing the hugs and the interactions between our couples and their moms and dads!! It’s such a gift!! Katy looked absolutely timeless in her Jesus Piero gown and STUNNING cathedral length veil!! As she walked down the aisle to “A Mighty Fortress is Our God”, which was a nod to her Lutheran heritage, the emotion on Alex’s face was evident! After they were pronounced husband and wife and walked back down the aisle to “Praise to the Lord, the Almighty”, which was Katy’s grandmother’s processional and her mom’s recessional, we took some bride and groom portraits around the beautiful church!! Some of its architecture reminds me of a castle!! Of course, we also had to have some fun with her veil! Then, it was off to the reception!!

They chose The Venue at the King’s Centre to host their reception due to the city-chic vibe that they envisioned for their winter wedding!! With the lighting and huge windows, it was definitely the best location for their wedding day!! Katy and Alex had a wonderful celebration with their amazing families and friends!! We absolutely LOVE watching our couples enjoying their special day!
