Today is our businessversary and this year is our 8th year photographing weddings together!! 🙂 It has been an amazing 8 years and we are extremely grateful!! Our ACP couples are always guaranteed to have Chad and I photograph their special day! First of all, if you are recently engaged CONGRATS!! What an exciting time!! WOOO HOO!! When we started planning our wedding we didn’t have a clue about what a large undertaking it was! From the beginning, we knew that one of our main priorities was our photographer. After all, your wedding photos are literally the only things (besides having some flower petals from your bouquet or maybe your dress) that you will have left from your wedding day 30, 40, 50+ years from now! That, to us, is definitely WORTH the investment! If you are searching for the right photographer, you may have realized the benefit to having two photographers at your wedding. To be clear, we aren’t bashing any form of wedding photography business at all!! There are a lot of amazing photographers/businesses out there who aren’t a husband and wife team or who hire a second shooter and they are absolutely fantastic! So, we get that this is not the only way to do business as a wedding photographer.
Now we would like to share with you some benefits of having a husband and wife wedding photography team. Hiring a husband and wife team will be one of your best decisions when planning your wedding! Here we go!
1. WE HAVE BEEN THERE AND WE UNDERSTAND!
When you book us, you get a dual appreciation that comes from a married couple. Even though capturing the number of weddings that we have offers us a lot of insight, having gone through our own wedding (June 2, 2012) allows us to understand and relate to how brides and grooms are feeling! We understand and relate to all of the excitement, the stress, and the little details that are involved. We always run wedding days the way that we would want ours to go, and our perspective helps so much with this! We want to walk alongside of you, encourage you in the last few months of your engagement, and motivate you to look past the wedding day and to what actual marriage entails. Guys, we are in this for YOU.
2. TEAMWORK = BETTER RESULTS. YOU GET TWO OF US AND WE CAN BE IN TWO PLACES AT ONCE
Instead of having to book and pay a second shooter (who you typically don’t get to chose), you automatically will have 2 photographers for your entire wedding day! Two photographers allows you to receive more photos than one photographer could provide! So, DOUBLE THE PHOTOS! It will also allow us to capture the same moment from different angles and perspectives! On wedding days we share the responsibilities and being able to be in two places at once is priceless!!
3. CARE AND DEVOTION THAT COMES FROM A MARRIED COUPLE
Marriage is a partnership and we are BFF’s. Encouraging and supporting one another is a huge part of our work. We are constantly building each other up (before, during, and after your wedding) to be the best that we can possibly be for you. We each have our own strengths, but we also know each other’s weaknesses and know how to serve one another. That is something that main shooters and second shooters might not have in common. It’s guaranteed that we have each other’s backs every step of the way! For example, this is extremely helpful during the ceremony and reception: one of us can capture the groom’s reaction to seeing his bride walking down the aisle while the other is getting photos of the bride walking down the aisle. Communication is key and we work efficiently to capture everything at different angles. Because we work well together in life, we work well together period.
4. YOU WILL BE COMFORTABLE ON YOUR WEDDING DAY! CHAD WILL HANG OUT WITH THE GUYS AND I WILL HANG OUT WITH THE GIRLS
While it’s possible for me (Amanda) to photograph the guys (the groom and the groomsmen) getting ready, it’s just obvious that the guys have much more fun hanging out with another guy! Also, they are more comfortable with Chad! The girls are much more relaxed spending the day with me. Also, to save time, we can split up! For example, Chad can capture groomsmen portraits while I photograph the bridal details (if the timeline requires it). Chad can photograph the details of the ceremony or reception while I can photograph the girls getting ready. This is absolutely important to make the best use of our time (which can be limited at times on a wedding day).
Hiring a husband and wife wedding photography team will make all the difference in your wedding day and the photos that represent it!
