We first met Jess at her brother, Eli’s, wedding a few years ago at Twickenham House!! She was the sweetest and Eli & Edith’s wedding was one of our favorite weddings to date, so we knew this would be another!! Jess is so uplifting and her happiness and carefree personality can brighten any situation!! When we received her email asking if we could photograph her and her fiance, Dan’s, Hawkesdene wedding we were ecstatic!!
Hawkesdene is a gorgeous location! So many little nooks and crannies that are like finding little treasures!! The forecast for rain that day wasn’t high, but there was still a small chance. The day got off to a great start! This day was definitely going to be special! Since they were following English tradition, the timeline was different. It is tradition for the guests to share two meals with the couple instead of just the typical one. The ceremony under the trees was such a stunning setting!! It reminded us of Narnia!! SO PRETTY!! We were nearing the end of the ceremony when we heard what sounded like wind. However, it wasn’t wind, it was a downpour!! We have never been through such a downpour during a wedding ceremony!! By the time we made it back to the house (which wasn’t far) we were soaked!! We quickly realized that Jess, Dan, and their family and friends saw the glass half full though!! Everyone literally got drenched and they still had smiles on their faces and embraced the moment!! As the day went on, we dodged rain showers, but, because of everyone’s positive atttitudes, the portrait time will definitely be remembered as an awesome adventure instead of a stressful situation!! Everyone was an absolute dream to work with!! It was also so nice to see Eli & Edith again (one of our favorite ACP couples!!) We can’t express how thankful we are to have so many wonderful couples!! We are truly blessed!!
