Weddings can be extremely stressful! Dealing with all the big and small details can become quite overwhelming. I highly recommend you have someone close to you or a wedding planner help you if you are planning your wedding! It will help alleviate some stress for sure! If you need any recommendations for wedding planners please feel free to ask me! 🙂 I wanted to offer something quick for now and mention 5 things that you might forget while you are planning your wedding day. In fact, a few of them I forgot myself during the time I was planning my own wedding which is how I know it’s possible to forget! 🙂
1. Forgetting to eat!
PLEASE PLEASE eat something! I make this number one because this is one thing I forgot and I seriously almost passed out while I was getting ready for the ceremony. I had to have someone bring me a plate of food before I could get into my wedding dress. I simply forgot to eat and it’s so easy to do so when you have a million things going through your head. To avoid passing out, becoming irritable eat something light but healthy..nothing that will make you sick later(like spicy food).
2. Forgetting to drink water!
Actually this probably should have been number 1 since water is so vital so it’s number 1/number 2 of these! Please limit yourself when it comes to the alcohol before your ceremony(if you plan on having alcohol at your reception). You don’t want to have a headache during your ceremony and you most definitely want to be sober. Most of all you want to be hydrated. Most people don’t realize how fast a wedding day can go by and how much walking you might actually be doing. If you have a summer wedding and it’s really humid out you will want that hydration as well!
3. Having a go to person in case of last minute disasters!
Like I have mentioned before having someone close to you to deal with things or a wedding planner is definitely worth it! Having a person to remedy situations will take the stress off of you and trust me..you will probably already be feeling stressed or nervous anyway. My best advice….don’t allow anything to ruin your day. For instance, if your bouquet doesn’t look like you imagined or if your wedding cake isn’t what you imagined don’t stress! In the end it’s all about you and your fiance and you will be married by the end of the day which is amazing!
4. Forgetting to test out a new makeup regimen.
Before my wedding day I made sure to do my research and find a makeup that wouldn’t just melt off my face during a hot humid day (since our wedding was planned for the summer time). However, I had never used the makeup products. I made sure to test them out during my engagement session day just to make sure they looked good in photos and that the makeup held up. You may even want to have a professional do your makeup for your wedding. I would suggest doing a trial run for that as well..and you can do it for your engagement session! Anyway, trial runs give you time to fix any mess ups.
5. You planned way too much!
Do not overdo it! Don’t feel like you have to do everything! Personally, I felt like I needed to handle everything the morning of my wedding including getting all the wedding decor up. I had a hard time letting go and allowing my friends to finish the decorating simply because I am a perfectionist …but it turned out beautiful! Give yourself some time to breathe and relax! Getting together with your photographer to figure out a well scheduled timeline for your day is essential! We can add in some cushion time and give you some great ideas on how to add in some relaxation time!
Have a great day!
