Today is our 3 year wedding anniversary so what better way to celebrate than to revisit the moments of our wedding day!! 🙂 We had an amazing day! Of course I was so stressed and I understand what that’s like all you brides to be out there! Advice…just relax and enjoy it! It went by SO fast! I am a DIY person…anything DIY I absolutely love so a lot of the elements I did myself! That’s why Part 1 of this blog post will be details and I will explain how I did it with links to tutorials!
OUR RUSTIC WEDDING(all photo credits go to Renee & Jonathan of Two Sparks):
We bought our invitations at Michael’s and then printed them up ourselves! I just love them!
I wanted purple to be my main color… OF COURSE! 🙂 Anyone who knows me knows that purple is one of my favorite colors! So I wanted purple shoes! I bought these off of zappos.com & the bling? Those are clip on earrings that I bought separately! haha It totally worked and looked like the jewels came on the shoes!
Where we were married was Maple Lane Farm -www.maplelanefarmtn.com It’s a gorgeous wedding venue and this is where we got ready! 🙂 It’s a beautiful house that’s also on the property!
My gorgeous wedding dress! A Maggie Sottero! 🙂 I also did the hanger myself! Click here to learn how to make one yourself!
My favorite flower is a peony! 🙂 So of course peonies were a part of the floral arrangements! We did some of the floral arrangements ourselves but the majority of them were done by Made by Hands Florists
We actually cut the wood slices ourselves! 🙂 Just from some old logs we had sitting around! AND….I dyed regular clear mason jars blue! Make your own DIY blue mason jars by clicking here!Â
A photo of my grandfather who passed away on my beautiful peony bouquet!
We really wanted a wildflower look when it came to the majority of the floral arrangements! 🙂 The wood stumps down each side of the aisle we cut ourselves!
Floral arrangements by Made by Hands florist! We tied twine and lace ribbon around the blue mason jars that we made! The ribbon/twine were bought at Hobby Lobby!
cut burlap makes for a great ribbon around the mason jars! 🙂
We made the arch at the ceremony! 🙂 Chad’s (my husband) dad made the wood arch, then we bought lace in bulk at a fabric store! Sometimes you can find it on sale! We just put it on top of the arch and then pulled it to each side so that floral arrangements could go there! Beautiful!!!
These specific floral arrangements were by us! 🙂 We tried to do the person who passed favorite flowers that way it could be more meaningful!
Made this as well! 🙂 I bought a long piece of wood (for the base) at Michael’s and the wood letters were also purchased at Michael’s. The mason jar is not attached to it..we just set it there because we felt like it looked good there. However, I also made that by making a DIY burlap bouquet! Click here for a tutorial. You can add whatever kind of ribbon to the mason jar to add to it!
I am a DIEHARD Kentucky Basketball fan! 🙂 UK garter! #BBN
Saved a can of corn, peeled off the label and used it as a container for the glow bracelets! 🙂 Printed off the label myself!
One of my favorite features of this wedding venue was this draping in the barn! 🙂 I didn’t have to do anything! It’s already there and it just adds to whatever decor you have!
We lined the sides of with photos of us….photos from our childhood until present! This is where people had to walk through in order to get to the ceremony site!
I found a template for this online and printed enough of them for each table! I thought it was perfect for our rustic wedding! You can find the template HERE!
Another great feature of this venue was the reception site! 🙂 The twinkling lights are the beautiful fireplace were all apart of the site so those we didn’t have to do! Also it comes with the tables and chairs so we didn’t need to rent anything extra! We bought the burlap and lace at a fabric store!
I actually don’t remember where I bought this lantern! So sorry! I do know that the flower on top is just a hair bow though! HA!
I made the programs myself! 🙂 What you need: Cardboard paper stock from either Hobby Lobby or Michaels, Tree rubber stamp and stamp ink (from Michael’s), Sticks(bought at Michaels) and I hot glued them to the back! Aren’t they so cute?! This tutorial is pretty spot on to the materials I used!
The basket holding the sparklers was just a basket we had sitting around! I printed the label! 🙂
As favors we did flower seeds! In small little bags (bought at Michael’s) and we printed off a label template and designed that!
We had a sand ceremony! 🙂 I bought our actual sand in bulk from Amazon! The Sand Ceremony Photo frame is from Etsy! You can find a ton of them HERE!
Another image of the DIY burlap flower bouquet! I made two for our wedding!
Letters that spell out SIGN from Michael’s…. We opted out of the traditional guestbook and went with the wood sliced custom guestbook that we now have hanging our wall! 🙂 You can find it HERE
The votives I decorated with leftover lace and twine! Just needed some good ole’ hot glue and we purchased a big package of votives from Michael’s!
Our gorgeous wedding cakes with my favorite flowers as accents! Thank you to Embree House Wedding Cakes for beautiful, delicious wedding cakes!
The small chalkboard signs were bought at Michael’s! If you haven’t figured it out by now Michael’s and Hobby Lobby are pretty much two of my favorite stores!! I am going to end this blog with some yummy things we had at our wedding! We actually bought these at a local grocery store!
