So this blog post is going to be just what the title describes it as. Totally random! It’s been a while since I’ve posted because things have been crazy. In fact, I still have Christmas decorations that need to be taken down. Seems like the first of the year is always a busy time. For the past two years I have left the Christmas tree up until my birthday. My birthday is on February 6th! It wasn’t bad though because my family decorated the tree with birthday balloons. Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love decorating!

Starting your own business can definitely be intimidating at times. That’s why I have been  studying as much about photography as I possibly can. I just enrolled in a wedding photography weekend on January 27th that is being taught by Zach and Jody Gray! The class is being broadcast on the creative live website. Fellow photogs if you haven’t checked out creative live you need to! They are amazing and offer wonderful courses. www.creativelive.com  I want to learn as much as possible! I don’t have any wedding experience yet but I eventually do want to take my business in that direction. I am hoping to expand my portfolio in the next couple of months as well.

I received Jasmine Star’s new book in the mail a few weeks ago. You should have seen me when I first opened the package. I read it within the first few days of receiving it. I couldn’t put it down! It is EPIC! Go J*! She is incredibly inspirational and I love her! It’s a must read!

I am going to leave you with a detail shot I took here recently. As photographers we have to pay attention to everything around us..they tell a story. I for one need work in this area. So I have been trying to capture some details to teach myself to pay attention. I think this could translate to our every day lives though. We tend to go by things and people so fast that we miss a lot. So take time today to notice something simple…something beautiful.
